Barkley Romero performs throughout the Arizona desert and has traveled all over the nation performing. She finished her Bachelor's degree (Summa Cum Laude) at Arizona State University where she studied with David Britton.
At the age of 12, Barkley began studying voice with Stephanie Morgan Fox. Throughout high school, she participated in school plays, sang in the Arizona Youth Chamber Ensemble and performed with the Oregon Bach Festival. She graduated high school at the top of her class, a year early, and attended Northern Arizona University on an Opera Scholarship. She studied with Judith Cloud at NAU for her first two years. While there, she participated in many of the school operas and the scene recitals. She transferred to Arizona State University where she was granted a talent scholarship and the Barbara Bluhm award. During the course of her undergraduate years she participated in The Hawaii Performing Arts Festival and the College Light Opera Company (in Falmouth, Massachusetts). Some of her favorite roles include Dido in Dido and Aeneas with the Arizona Youth Chamber Ensemble, Iolanthe in Iolanthe, and Baby Rose in abes in Arms. At the College light Opera Company, Cathy in The Last Five Years with Desert Stages, Christine Daeé in Phantom (Yeston) with Hale Center Theater
